World Series of Comedy

The World Series of Comedy was first held in Pittsburgh, PA, in 2003 at a local comedy club. Today, the World Series of Comedy is a stand-up comedy event for comedians of all levels. It starts with weeklong live satellite contests all around the U.S. and Canada, culminating in a comedy festival we call The Main Event, in September. The festival includes 101 qualifying comedians competing in The Main Event, as well as an entire week of comedy seminars and social and networking events for comics, comedy club managers and bookers from the U.S. and Canada.

Brian Atkinson is a 2023 Wild Card 1st place winner and a 2024 top 40 comic in the World Series of Comedy.

Don Tersigni, a Detroit area native and former winner of Ed McMahon's "NEXT BIG STAR" National TV Talent show, began performing while serving in the US Navy. He has performed in Las Vegas and Nashville and has shared the stage with Steve Harvey, Louie Anderson, Cast of The Sopranos Live, Jewel, Jimmy "JJ" Walker, Jon Stewart, Tommy Chong, Gilbert Gottfried, Ted Nugent and Weird Al Yankovic among others. Don has appeared on Oprah's Lifeclass on OWN as a featured guest, HBO Comic Relief, ABC's America's Funniest People, FOX's Show me the Funny, The Michael Essany Show on E!TV. Mike Marvell

Mike Marvell has been doing comedy professionally for over 25 years, although he's been making people laugh his whole life. He told his guidance counciler in high school he wanted to be an engineer and she told him "With your grades? That's hilarious, you should be a comedian!" His comedy is based on growing up in Wisconsin... football, hunting, fishing, his family, and his wife and kids. He's performed at everything from churches to swinger clubs, grade schools to colleges, country clubs. to biker clubs, nursing homes to casinos (same thing). Instant likability, he reminds you of your crazy cousin, the guy next door, your brother-in-law. Even if you don't hire him you'll still want to hang out with him.
